Erica J. Farmer, O.D.

Dr. Erica J. Farmer joined Heart of America Eye Care, P.A. in August, 2000.  She provides primary eye care, contact lens fittings, low vision rehabilitative services and co-management of cataract and refractive surgery patients.  She is dedicated to helping low vision patients utilize their existing vision to the highest level.

Dr. Farmer received her bachelors degree from the University of Kansas and her doctorate in optometry from the University of Houston.  Her clinical internships were completed at St. Erik's Eye Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden and Colmery O'Neil Veterans' Administration Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas.  She received the 1999 Robert Birenbaum Scholarship for clinical excellence and the 2000 Wesley Jensen Contact Lens Achievement Award.  She was a member of the Gold Key Honor Society for leadership and academic performance.  In 1998 she accompanied members of the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity to San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

Dr. Farmer sees patients in our Shawnee Mission office.  She is dedicated to quality eye care in a friendly, professional environment.
