Jodianne T. Carter, M.D.

Dr. Jodianne Carter is originally from the Kansas City area.  She graduated from Lee's Summit High School in 1986 as valedictorian and is a National Merit Scholar.  She went on to the University of Missouri at Kansas City's six year medical program, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry with Distinction in 1991 and her M.D. degree in 1992.  She was also the recipient of the Janet M. Glasgow American Medical Women's Association Scholarship Achievement Citation in 1992.  She then completed an Internship in Internal Medicine at UMKC in 1993 and completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1996.

Dr. Carter has been in private practice since 1996, and with Heart of America Eye Care since 2001.  Her practice encompasses small incision cataract surgery, comprehensive eye care for children and adults, and specialization in the medical and surgical care of glaucoma.

Dr. Carter is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Kansas City Society of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology.

Dr. Carter resides in Overland Park with her son, Ethan.  She is also fortunate to spend time at her family's "fun farm" in Platte County, Missouri, where she tends an orchard and small vineyard.  She is a member of Platte City United Methodist Church, Barstow Parent's Association, and the League of Women Voters.
