
Dr. Badeen received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Medicine in 1974. After an internship at the Kansas City General Hospital/UMKC School of Medicine, he completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at Truman Medical Center/ UMKC School of Medicine in 1978, serving as Chief Resident during this time. Dr. Badeen has been in private practice in Johnson County since 1978 as a general ophthalmologist. He performs small incision cataract surgery, Photo Refractive Keratectomy (PRK) as well as general ophthalmic and laser surgery. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Badeen is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Medicine where he teaches ophthalmology residents small incision cataract surgery. Dr. Badeen is a native of Kansas City, is married and has one son. He has coached little League Baseball, has been a Cubmaster and has served many years as a Boy Scout Leader (himself an Eagle Scout). He enjoys time with his family, skiing and scuba diving.
