William A. Pilchard, M.D., FACS

Dr. William A. Pilchard is a native of West Virginia. He received a BS in Biology from the University of Chicago in 1965. Dr. Pilchard served 3 years in the U.S. Public Health Service and Coast Guard. He received his ophthalmology training at the University of Pittsburgh serving as chief resident in that program. Dr. Pilchard attended Washington University in St. Louis in a fellowship in neuro ophthalmology and glaucoma.

From 1972 to 1978 Dr. Pilchard was full time faculty at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He then entered private practice with a subspecialty interest in glaucoma. Dr. Pilchard has an interest in efforts to improve eye care in developing countries and has worked in Pakistan, the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Guatemala.

Dr. Pilchard is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Ophthalmology.
